ORGANIZATIONAL ENVIRONMENT ANALYSIS

       Within what context?
       Although personnel selection was successfully accomplished and the right people are in the right positions, it often happens to be noticed a general low efficiency. Within a company, beyond general management efficiency, may often arise issues regarding:
-    communication within a group/ team or between departments;
-    employees’ work satisfaction;
-    motivation, agreement towards the payment system;
-    organising activity (jobs’ set out, building the teams etc.)
-    quality of working relationships between leaders and subalterns or between colleagues who find themselves on the same hierarchic level.

In order to identify this kind of problems and find solutions, necessary steps must be taken from the organizational point of view on the whole, steps that involve analysis of the organizational environment.

       What does it mean?
       Organizational environment analysis combines multiple procedures that involve gathering and organizing data about the personnel of the company/ institution or of a department, in order to make an accurate description of the issue and find solutions to it or improve working relationships.

      Through this sort of analysis there are to be achieved information regarding:
-    a work team’s emotional components (living experiences, fears, negative or positive emotions), cognitive components (beliefs, views, rumours) and behavioral components (involvement, sluggishness, absenteeism, protests, etc.)
-    interpersonal relationships;
-    communication;
-    duties and work overload;
-    employees’ motivation;
-    employees’ evaluation;
-    management style;
-    if employees identify themselves with company’s values, etc.

       How do we work?
       The analysts of Valdivia Recruitment use various methods in gathering and processing information in order to detect the major aspects of a problematic situation and find useful solutions. We mention bellow some of the methods we use:
-    abilities questionnaires (standard questionnaires);
-    opinion questionnaires (created according to each analysed situation);
-    individual interviews;
-    group interviews (focus group).

       During the analysis approach, we give great importance to winning the confidence of staff. In the investigation process, we intend to identify opinions, fears, inflexibilities, suggestions of the company’s personnel, so it is of major importance to get an open attitude on their part. In this respect, we shall present to them what they are going to be inquired about, as the purpose of consulting them is to ensure a better organization and function of the company. We will ensure anonymity and confidentiality (the filled in questionnaires won’t be signed, the replies will be analysed on a whole, not individually, and the company management will receive only general reports, names or positions won’t be mentioned).

       The organizational environment is an element of great importance with direct influence upon the economic results of the company. Growth or decrease in company’s performance depends on the organizational environment components.
